Born in 1936, son of a Russian immigrant and a French aristocrat. Influenced by his Russian origins, he took his mother's surname and first name, RAYA SORKINE. Throughout his life, his works will reflect this culture that has rocked him since his childhood and which will make him one of the greatest painters of his generation.
