Alain BONNEFOIT
1937

Paintings Drawings

First a student at the Applied Arts, then at the Beaux-Arts, he then left for Brussels to continue his training alongside the sculptor Volti, of whom he has remained one of the faithful.

His technique is a mixture of the exotic "sumi-e" of Japan (drawing with Indian ink where a single freehand line is used for an entire drawing) and the traditional oil painting of Europe, with a preference for the colors of the Mediterranean.

Painter of the Venuses as Hervé Bazin called him, Alain Bonnefoit amazes us with his pencil stroke and offers us dreams, sensuality and eroticism, without ever falling into vulgarity.

Alain Bonnefoit celebrates the Woman, the Nude, the Beauty and the Voluptuousness with such a talent that it became the reference for forty years.
