Peter KLASEN

Peter Klasen was born in Lubeck, Germany in 1935. He is one of the founders of the artistic movement named "  New figure  " Where "  narrative figuration  ". He then develops a personal plastic language, exploring and reinterpreting the signs of our urban environment, and more generally of our society.

The industrial theme deeply marks his work. We thus find in Peter Klasen's paintings, elements such as pressure gauges, sheet metal from public works machinery, metal locks, truck tarpaulins... We can also recognize logos, numbers and photos from magazines or posters.
